TINTIN
The Inter-National Thermal-Infrared Network
TINTIN brings together the expertise of instrument builders and observers in the thermal-infrared to commonly tackle the challenge of removing systematic residuals of the detector, telescope and atmospheric background. Our goal is to reach the background photon noise limit and provide the ultimate sensitivity for the scientific questions that can be best addressed in this wavelength range. Starting from a Lorentz Center workshop in Leiden in November 2018, our aim is to strengthen international collaboration in (ground-based) thermal-infrared astronomy, with a view towards the thermal-infrared instruments of the next generation of telescopes.
